It is also called, ber, red dates, Chinese dates, etc. It is around, green to brown, sweet, fragrant and quite fulfilling fruit, with almost every beneficial ingredient in it like Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Vitamin B complex, and Vitamin P. It also contains alkaloids, glycosides, saponins, flavonoids, betulinic acid, etc.

Use & Benefits

Flavonoids or polyphenols, are antioxidants, found in jujube as well. Antioxidants fight with free radicals and damaging oxidative reactions, which otherwise would affect skin or hair when they are exposed to harsh sunlight or pollutants. They not only affect skin topically but they alter the protein synthesis at the cellular level and thus resulting in a damaged or exploited epidermal layer, which in turn causes wrinkles and sagged skin. The antioxidant can not only prevent this damage but also can reverse this damage to some extent. The fruit extract also has various constituents like vitamins and minerals that can nourish the skin. Certain elements from the extract, mainly alkaloids may form a complex with dead skin cell protein and help the skin get rid of it. When it comes to dry, red and irritated skin, the extract has soothing properties. It can also moisturize the skin and make skin smooth, soft and even-toned. It can be used in skincare, haircare, and sun care.
