XANTHOPHYLL

INCI: Xanthophyll

What is Xanthophyll?

Xanthophyll is a group of yellow pigment compounds that occur naturally. It belongs to the group of carotenoids. It is present in plants, the human body, and the dietary products of various animals. In addition, the group contains compounds like lutein, zeaxanthin, etc. Xanthophyll is required as a light-harvesting accessory and also to protect cells from the harmful effects of light.

Use & Benefits:

Antioxidant: Xanthophyll functions as an antioxidant, fighting against free radicals that are already present in our body. Additionally, factors like harmful UV rays, radiation, pollution, and other chemicals further expedite the process of free radical generation.

UV Protectant: Xanthophyll protects against harmful UV rays that can damage the skin.
Skin Conditioning Agent: Xanthophyll is a skin conditioning agent, helping to improve the health and appearance of the skin.

Reverses Skin Damage: Antioxidants, whether consumed or applied topically, may reverse the harmful effects of free radicals and reactive oxygen, which can lead to visible effects such as fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin.

Cosmetic Uses: Xanthophyll is used in formulations of creams, gels, lotions, shampoos, conditioners, and other skin and hair care products, providing color while helping the skin and hair become healthier.
