Trisodium EDTA is the sodium salt of EDTA, or ethylenediaminetetracetic acid, with three sodium ions attached to it. Trisodium EDTA is a white crystalline solid, soluble in water. EDTA is mainly used as a preservative and chelating agent in various industries. Trisodium EDTA is used in textiles, medicines, cosmetic products, and personal care items, as well as in food and pharmaceuticals. The salts of EDTA, commonly known as edetic acid, were created to counteract the effects of hard water and heavy metal ions in the textile manufacturing process.
