Tripleurospermum maritimum extract is obtained from a plant named Tripleurospermum maritimum, of the family Asteraceae. It is also called false mayweed, sea mayweed, and Lus Bealtaine. The whole plant is used to prepare the extract. The plant is a biennial herb with daisy-like flowers. The flower head has tubular disc flowers in the center and ray flowers around the periphery, which are often strap-shaped. It is found in countries of Northern Europe and also in countries like Iceland and Scandinavia. The whole plant is used to obtain extract which is used in cosmetic and personal care products.
