What is Trioctanoin?
Trioctanoin is an ester of glycerol and octanoic acid. Octanoic acid, or caprylic acid, is a naturally occurring fatty acid obtained from plants and vegetable fats and oils. Trioctanoin is a clear, colorless to yellow-colored viscous liquid. It is used as a useful ingredient in many cosmetic products.
