What is Thymus serpyllum extract?
Thymus serpyllum extract is obtained from the plant Thymus serpyllum, of the family Lamiaceae. It is commonly known as wild thyme or Breckland thyme. The plant is a kind of subshrub, 2 cm in height, with a creeping stem. It also bears strongly scented flowers. The plant is native to most parts of Europe, North America, and parts of Asia. This plant is mainly used as an ornamental plant. Ayurvedic medicine uses all parts of the plant, including the flower, stem, root, leaves, and bark. This plant is a strong diuretic that is healthy for the kidneys and increases the frequency and volume of urine. The leaves are used to prepare herbal tea, and the whole plant is used to get extract, which is used in cosmetic products.
