Tetrahydrodemethoxycurcumin is also known as tetrahydrodemethoxydiferuloylmethane. It is a kind of organic compound. It belongs to a group of curcuminoids. It is an aromatic phenolic compound containing a curcumin moiety. Curcumin is a yellow-colored compound obtained from the plant Curcuma longa of the family Zingiberaceae. It is also called the turmeric plant, a perennial, rhizomatous herb. Turmeric is used as a spice in food and also in Ayurvedic medicines.
