What is Stearyl glycyrrhetinate?
Stearyl glycyrrhetinate is an ester of stearyl alcohol and glycyrrhetinic acid. Glycyrrhetinic acid is obtained by hydrolyzing glycyrrhizic acid. Glycyrrhizic acid is extracted from the licorice herb, Glycyrrhiza glabra. Stearyl glycyrrhetinate is a white to pale yellowish powder used as a useful ingredient in cosmetic and personal care products.
