What is Sodium carboxymethyl beta-glucan?

Sodium carboxymethyl beta-glucan is the sodium salt of the carboxymethyl ether of beta-glucan. It is a water-soluble ingredient. Glucan derived from yeast is a powerful activator of the host's nonspecific defense mechanisms.
