What is Sambucus nigra fruit extract?

Small black-blue bunches of elderberry are native to Europe but grown in many parts of the world as well. Cooked berries are usually palatable. Elderberries are rich in Vitamin C, phenolic acids, flavonoids, and dark purple pigment- anthocyanins

Use & Benefits

Similar to other berries it has an antioxidant effect, which is beneficial for skin. Not only it can fight against free radicles, but also it can reduce inflammation. Berry juice was used in the past with the belief that it improves skin complexion. It acts as an astringent and helps skin looking clearer with it’s a mild exfoliating effect. It’s blue/black pigment is used to impart the same shade in cosmetics like eye shadow or eyeliner.
