INCI: Rosa damascena flower oil

What is Rosa damascena flower oil?

Rosa damascena oil is obtained from the Rosa damascena plant, a deciduous shrub commonly called the Damask rose. It is a hybrid variety of rose cultivated mainly for its flowers and has its origin in Central Asia and the Middle East, but is now cultivated in many countries throughout the world. The plant is used as an ornamental plant, and its flowers are extracted to obtain oil or extract. Rosa damascena oil is commonly used in cosmetic products as a masking agent and in perfumes. The oil is extracted through the process of steam distillation of the flowers. Additionally, it possesses astringent and skin conditioning properties.

Use & Benefits:

Skincare Benefits:
Rosa damascena oil is widely used in cosmetic products for its numerous skincare benefits. It has astringent and skin conditioning properties, making it an ideal ingredient for facial and body care products. It helps to tighten pores, prevent wrinkles, and improve skin texture.
The oil is also widely used in aromatherapy for its calming and soothing properties. It is believed to have a positive effect on the mind and body, helping to reduce stress and anxiety.
Rosa damascena oil is a popular ingredient in perfumes due to its strong, floral scent. It is often used as a base note in perfumes, providing a long-lasting fragrance.
Masking Agent:
In cosmetic products, Rosa damascena oil is used as a masking agent to mask the unpleasant odor of other ingredients.

Rosa damascena oil is extracted from the flowers of the plant through steam distillation. The oil is then used in various cosmetic and personal care products such as moisturizers, toners, and facial oils.
Rosa damascena oil is a versatile ingredient and is often used in combination with other oils and ingredients to enhance its benefits. It can be mixed with carrier oils such as jojoba oil or sweet almond oil to create a nourishing facial oil or added to a moisturizer to improve its skin conditioning properties.
