What is Phosphatidylethanolamine?

Phosphatidylethanolamine is a hygroscopic phospholipid also known as cephalin. It is an important constituent of cell membranes and lipoproteins. It is the second most abundant phospholipid present in the cells. It has ethanolamine as the head group attached to other phospholipids in the side chain. It also forms part of the mitochondrial membrane in mammalian cells. For use and benefits please refer to Cephalin.
