What is Methylchloroisothiazolinone / methylisothiazolinone?

Kathon CG is a mixture of methylchloroisothiazolinone (MCI) and Methylisothiazolinone (MI). It belongs to thiazolinic derivative. MCI is a preservative. It is clear, liquid with a mild odor.

Use & Benefits: 

It is a broad spectrum and readily biodegradable preservative. It is quite stable and it does not impart color or odor to cosmetics. It is used in rinse-off skin and hair care products and also in toiletries.
