What is Hydrogenated starch hydrolysate?
Hydrogenated starch hydrolysate, HSH is obtained from controlled hydrogenation of corn syrup. It is actually a mixture of different polyhydric alcohols such as sorbitol, maltitol, and higher-order sugar alcohols.
Use & Benefits:
Since it contains many -OH groups in its structure, it can attract more water to the skin or formulation which is known as an humectants. Since it attracts more moisture, it is very helpful for dry skin. When it is added to any product, it is used as viscosity enhancer. It is the non-irritant and mostly natural origin.
