What is Haslea ostrearia extract?

Haslea ostrearia is a blue diatom alga found in abundance near Indian ocean. It mainly contains marennanine, a blue pigment.

Use & Benefits: 

According to research the blue pigment marennine is a powerful ingredient, it has shown many properties medicinally, but cosmetically it is used as a skin-conditioning agent. It is anti-oxidant, antiviral, and antibacterial in nature. Not much information has been found yet about this ingredient.
