What is Cholecalciferol?
Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin, which means it can be absorbed through the skin. It occurs mainly in two forms: cholecalciferol or vitamin D3, and ergocalciferol or vitamin D2, in the human body. Vitamin D aids in the absorption of calcium and magnesium ions, which are required for the health of bones. It is produced within the skin when it is exposed to UV radiation coming from the sun or from dietary supplements.
