Salicylic Acid is the reference exfoliant for combination and oily skin. It belongs to the family of the so-called Beta-Hydroxy Acids (BHA), which have the ability to deeply cleanse pores avoiding problems such as pimples.
In the case of having normal or dry skin, the exfoliant recommended for this type of skin is Glycolic Acid, unless the objective of use is to correct acne, in which case it would still be Salicylic Acid regardless of skin type.

How to use Salicylic Acid (BHA)?
· Day and night / SPF: During the day, use in combination with a base that includes sun protection or apply a photoprotector of your choice depending on the needs of your skin.
· With Retinol and/or Vitamin C: If we include other active ingredients such as Retinol or Vitamin C and we notice that the skin is slightly irritated, we can space out their use, alternating them during the day and night or using them on alternate days until our skin gets used to them.

Is Salicylic Acid recommended for sensitive skin?
This active exfoliant has a special feature, which is that it has proven to have a calming effect on acne-prone skin. However, in the rest of the skins it has not been demonstrated, so the compatibility with sensitive skins we define it as intermediate.
If you have sensitive skin, we recommend you try it (mixed with a base) on a small area of skin, such as the inside of the forearm. If you have no irritation after 48 hours, you can use it. If not, consider switching to another antioxidant with better compatibility with sensitive skin.

This chemically active exfoliant is naturally found in the bark of the willow tree (Salix), hence its name.
