What is Yogurt?
Yogurt is formed by the fermentation of milk by the Lactobacillus bacteria. Milk contains lactose sugar, which is converted to lactic acid. Lactic acid acts on the milk proteins to form curd or yogurt. The name yogurt comes from a Turkish word that means 'to be curdled'. Plain yogurt contains carbohydrates, sugars, fats, and proteins. It is mainly used in food. In Ayurveda, yogurt is believed to prevent skin problems from the root level, and that is from the gut. It is believed to change the skin for good, inside out.
