Ulmus fulva bark extract is obtained from the plant Ulmus fulva, commonly called slippery elm. It is a deciduous tree native to eastern parts of North America. The extract is obtained from the inner part of the tree's bark. It is a light to amber-colored liquid, soluble in water. The extract is rich in tannins, minerals, and carotenes. It is used to treat many ailments such as cough, cold, and diarrhea, in addition to its use in cosmetic products. It is found in a wide range of cosmetics and functions as an emollient, demulcent, and soothing agent.
