What is Thymus vulgaris extract?
Thymus vulgaris extract, or thyme extract, is obtained from thyme plants. It is also known as Thymus vulgaris, of the family Lamiaceae. It is an aromatic, perennial, evergreen plant. It is cultivated in many countries throughout the world. Thyme leaves are used for culinary purposes. The extract and oil extracted from the plant are light to amber-colored liquids with a characteristic odor. They consist of compounds like myrcene, linalool, p-cymene, and borneol.
