TAPIOCA STARCH
INCI: Tapioca starch
What is Tapioca starch?
Tapioca starch is a type of starch obtained from the roots of the Tapioca plant. It is also commonly called cassava. The plant is a perennial shrub, native to North and Central Brazil, now cultivated in South America, Africa, and Asia. The starch is a free-flowing, gluten-free powder. It is extracted by pulping out the cassava roots, squeezing out the liquid. The liquid is then dried to obtain the starch. It is mainly used in food items and also as an ingredient in cosmetic products.
Use & Benefits:
- Thickening Agent: Tapioca starch functions as a thickener and viscosity enhancer in cosmetic products.
- Texture Enhancement: It gives texture to powdered products like face powders, providing a smooth and silky feeling.
- Reduction of Greasiness: Tapioca starch reduces the greasy and oily feeling of cosmetic products.
- Versatile Formulation Ingredient: It is used in formulations of creams, lotions, make-up products, color cosmetics, and other skincare products."
