SODIUM METHYL COCOYL TAURATE
INCI: Sodium methyl cocoyl taurate
What is Sodium methyl cocoyl taurate?
Sodium methyl cocoyl taurate is a non-ionic surfactant. It is obtained by reacting N-methyltaurine and fatty acids obtained from coconut oil. N-methyltaurine is found in nature. Sodium methyl cocoyl taurate is a soft, off-white paste used in many personal care and cosmetic products.
Use & Benefits:
Surfactant: Sodium methyl cocoyl taurate can be found in various cosmetic and personal care products as a surfactant.
Cleansing Agent: Sodium methyl cocoyl taurate is also used as a cleansing agent.
Foaming Agent: Sodium methyl cocoyl taurate is used as a foaming agent in various cosmetic and personal care products.
Stability: Taurates are centuries-old surfactants that have a water-loving head and fat-loving tail, with a basic structure somewhat similar to an amino acid. They are quite stable at different pH ranges and can withstand high amounts of grease and grime.
Surface Tension: Cleansers and surfactants reduce water surface tension and use the oil-loving part to attract impurities like dirt, grease, grime, and dead matter. After these impurities are attached to their molecule, they are washed away with water with the water-loving part of it, and reducing surface tension helps the impurities to float along with the foam.
Cleaner and brighter skin and hair strands: As a result of using sodium methyl cocoyl taurate, cleaner and brighter skin and hair strands are achieved.
Foaming Property: Due to its good foaming property, sodium methyl cocoyl taurate is used as a useful ingredient in the formulations of shampoos, conditioners, cleansing products, and other skincare products.
