SODIUM LAUROAMPHOACETATE
INCI: Sodium lauroamphoacetate
What is Sodium lauroamphoacetate?
Sodium lauroamphoacetate is an amphoteric compound formed by reacting aminoethylethanolamine with fatty acyl compounds, which are obtained from fatty acids present in coconut oil. It is an amphoteric compound, which means it can function as both an acid and a base. It is mainly used as an ingredient in personal care products.
Use & Benefits:
Mild surfactant: lowers the surface tension between two components of the product, such as two liquids or a liquid and a solid
Cleansing agent: attracts dirt, oil, and other impurities accumulated on the surface of the skin, which can then be washed off easily with water
Foaming agent: has foam-boosting properties, which makes it a useful ingredient in shampoos and other cleansing products
Conditioning agent: retains moisture and keeps the skin and hair hydrated
Hydrophilic and hydrophobic end: contains both hydrophilic and hydrophobic ends, allowing it to function as a surfactant
Used in personal care products: found in formulations of shampoos, conditioners, bath products, and other skin and hair care products.
