What is Sodium chondroitin sulfate?

Sodium chondroitin sulfate is a natural polysaccharide composed of acetylgalactosamine and glucuronic acid. It occurs naturally in connective tissues, skin, and bone cartilage attached to proteins present in the intercellular cells where collagen and elastin are inserted. Mucopolysaccharides are responsible for the elasticity, resilience, and strength of the skin. Sodium chondroitin sulfate is used in medicines to treat osteoarthritis, in addition to its use in cosmetic products.

•   Is found in almost all gelatin-derived products (food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and photographic material).
