What is Silica?
Silica or silicon dioxide is one of the most abundantly found minerals on the Earth's crust. Silica occurs as quartz, the most common component of sand. It also occurs in sandstone, clay, granite, and in parts of plants and animals. It is colorless to white and soluble in water. It has a wide variety of industrial applications, such as food additives, making glass, and in pharmaceuticals.
