Phyllanthus emblica fruit extract is obtained from the plant Phyllanthus emblica, commonly known as amla, Indian gooseberry. It is a deciduous tree with greenish-yellow flowers and fruits. It is native to the Indian subcontinent. The extract is obtained from the whole plant is used in traditional Indian medicine for ages. It is believed to revive and produce an anti-aging effect on the body inside out. The fruit of the plant is considered an excellent source of vitamin C. The fruit extract is rich in compounds like ascorbic acid, ellagic acid, phenols, and flavonoids.
