What is Hydrogenated olive oil?
Hydrogenated olive oil is olive oil with hydrogen atom added in the structure of the monosaturated fatty acids (contained in olive oil) in a controlled manner. Hydrogenation is done to provide more stability to olive oil. Olive oil is derived from the ripe fruits of Olea europaea. Olive oil is considered a healthy light oil and therefore used widely throughout the world.

Hydrogenated olive oil contains all the beneficial fatty acids and thus when it is used on the skin it can readily get absorbed and starts healing the dry skin. It forms a layer on the skin, which doesn’t allow the skin’s hidden moisture to escape. It preserves the moisture under the sheath made by its molecules. This property makes the dull, dry skin moist and radiant. Considering formulation aspect, it is used as a viscosity enhancer in any formulation.
