Sometimes normal skin is not given the attention it should. Why? Because we imagine that normal skin is healthy, balanced and completely “normal” skin. What usually escapes us is that normal skin is just one type of skin and that it to needs care and protection like any of the other types.
But let's make sure we know what we are labeling as "normal" skin.
When we use the term "normal skin" or eudermic skin we are referring to the type of skin in which the sebaceous glands produce a correct level of oils while maintaining proper hydration. Although the forehead and nose at any given time may have a slight shine, if the skin is not too greasy or too dry it is classified as normal.
Fine pores.
Good blood circulation.
An even and smooth texture.
It does not usually have impurities like itching or blackheads
Although it appears to be the case, it doesn’t actually mean that it is. What's more, this type of skin can have blemishes, discoloration, acne or fine lines like all the rest. What it does mean is that this type of skin simply has a good balance of fat on the skin.
We have skin that we have and that’s that, yet our types of skin can also evolve during the course of life and equally we must also take care of our skin from external elements and factors that can harm it:
Sunbathing and tanning in excess can cause skin damage which accelerates photoaging and leaves blemishes and skin pigmentation.
Abrupt changes in temperature. If we leave our skin unprotected it is very difficult to maintain radiant and healthy skin.
A bad diet.
Smoking and drinking alcohol cause the skin to become dehydrated, cause clogged pores and opaque appearance.
The good fortune of normal skin is that it doesn’t usually have peeling skin dilated pores or acne. However, it is important to take care of normal skin. A regular beauty regime will make sure that your skin doesn’t dry out over time, helping it to avoid getting spots, blemishes, and wrinkles as you get older.
In addition to a gentle daily cleansing regime, we can also treat your skin with anti-aging active ingredients or any other treatment actives to provide a treatment beauty cream which is aimed at improving appearance. Here we have some of our recommended treatments for you:
Anti-aging treatment: Vitamin B3 or Niacinamide (for sensitive skin) or Vitamin A (Retinol) that helps the skin to become firmer and smoother correcting the passage of time.
Antioxidant Treatment: Coenzyme Q10 or Vitamin C, which will help us to reduce blemishes and pigmentation/discoloration on our skin.
Exfoliating treatment with Salicylic Acid that renews the skin on a regular basis. But as we’ve already said, it’s not a bed of roses for normal skin types. Due to the fact that normal skin is the least common skin type means there are less available beauty cosmetics and treatments on the market. Therefore taking care of it optimally and adhering to its personal needs often means the process is one of an odyssey.
