What is Asarum seiboldi root extract?
Wild ginger, also called Asarum seiboldi, is of the family Aristolochiaceae. It is a perennial herb native to temperate countries like China, Japan, Vietnam, and North America. This herbaceous plant has a creeping rootstock that produces a cluster of leaves up to 15 cm tall. The plant features characteristic kidney-shaped leaves and brown or reddish-colored flowers. It is called wild ginger because the rhizomes have a similar taste and smell to that of ginger. Extracts from the roots of this plant are used as herbal medicine to treat headaches, colds, and asthma.
