What is Euterpe oleracea fruit extract (Acai)?

Euterpe oleracea is commonly known as acai palm, cultivated for its fruits, leaves, trunk wood and hearts of palm.  Acai palm has been originally found from the rain forests of Brazil. It contains anthocyanidins, proanthocyanins, flavonoids, fatty acids, amino acids, minerals, sterol, oleic acid, palmitic acid, and vitamins.
