PALMITOYL HEXAPEPTIDE-12

INCI: Palmitoyl hexapeptide-12

What is Palmitoyl hexapeptide-12?

Palmitoyl hexapeptide-12 is a lipopeptide molecule. It is formed by the reaction of Palmitic acid with hexapeptide-12. It is a signal peptide forming part of the Matrikine series. Peptides are formed from a combination of different amino acids, which are basic building blocks of protein.

Use & Benefits:

Palmitoyl hexapeptide-12 boosts the production of elastin and collagen, which are the main skin protein, responsible for the formation of the skin epithelial layer. It also reduces the production of IL-6 which is responsible for damage to skin structure. Our skin is the largest organ exposed to the environment all the time to damaging free radicals and other pollutants. On a long-term basis, it may lead to a faulty skin structure and wounded skin cells. Such damage can further create faulty skin metabolic reactions and cause wrinkles, fine lines, uneven skin tone, and pigmentation.  So, when it is treated with peptide on a long-term basis, it helps reverses such damage. It is known to slow down the degradation of the skin matrix and improves the health of the skin. It is a major factor that helps in achieving smooth, wrinkle-free skin. It removes the dark spots and fine lines caused due to photoaging. It also aids in repairing age-related damage caused to the skin. It replenishes the skin and gives it a rejuvenated and refreshed look. It is used in creams, lotions, moisturizers, conditioners, and other skin products.
